San Francisco, February 9, 2012 – XOJET Inc., a leader in private aviation, today announced the latest recognition of its operational excellence by being honored with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Diamond Award of Excellence for Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Training. This prestigious award recognizes aviation companies and maintenance specialists that initiate highly effective training programs aimed at improving safety and technical knowledge that exceed standard FAA regulatory requirements.
"As it is one of the FAA's highest honors, we take great pride in receiving the Diamond Award of Excellence this year. This award serves to acknowledge that XOJET has established best practices and a culture of continuous improvement that are both firmly rooted in our commitment to provide the highest levels of safety, quality, and reliability in the private aviation industry," said David Colbert, XOJET's Vice President for Technical Operations. "We work closely with training partners such as CAE to develop industry-leading curriculum and training delivery methods specific to XOJET's requirements."
XOJET has built a world-class operations and maintenance team by investing and hiring the "Best in Class". XOJET aviation professionals are among the most skilled, trained, and talented in the business. In addition to comprehensive flight crew training practices, XOJET employs progressive crew readiness evaluations before each flight, adapted from U.S. Air Force procedures. XOJET not only equips its professionals with state-of-the-art technology, but a robust and innovative process. For example, XOJET is the only private aviation company in the United States to implement the Q-Pulse Quality Management system.
As a result of this ongoing commitment to safety and operational excellence, XOJET has consistently earned the highest rankings of all three of the leading industry-auditing organizations: WYVERN, IS-BAO and ARG/US. XOJET is the only business aviation provider to rank either #1 or #2 in all twelve ARG/US Platinum safety rating categories, and has received several FAA awards for training, process controls, scheduling, and safety. In addition, XOJET has been invited to become a member of the ARG/US Advisory Board, NATA Maintenance and Air Charter Committees and the CAE Business Aviation Customer Advisory Board and will be participating in the FAA Safety Assurance Task Force that will help define future safety standards for the private aviation industry.
The FAA first created the Aviation Maintenance Safety Awards program in 1991 to encourage aviation maintenance technicians (AMTs) and their employers to actively participate in training programs. To qualify for the prestigious FAA Diamond Award of Excellence, 100 percent of an organization's eligible maintenance technicians must pass specialized, continuous training in aircraft systems, regulations and FAA rules over a 12-month period.
