Vista Global's XOJET Deal Sets Up An Epic Private Jet Dogfight Between Two Forbes Billionaires

Vista Global Holding, the Dubai-based company formed 10 days ago, made its first acquisition by entering into an agreement to buy XOJET, a large California-based operator of private jets and seller of jet cards and on-demand charter. Combined with its existing VistaJet subsidiary, the move gives Vista Global an owned fleet of 115 super midsize, large cabin and ultra-long-range private jets.

Earlier this morning Thomas Flohr’s VistaJet announced it had reached an agreement to acquire XOJET via Vista Global, a Dubai based holding company formed earlier this month. The deal covers XOJET’s business aviation fleet and commercial operations, and the release said XOJET’s regulated air carrier will continue to be independently operated in a joint venture under U.S. control and leadership, in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation criteria.

Vista Global, the newly formed parent company of VistaJet, announced today that it is acquiring U.S.-based charter firm XOJET’s business aviation fleet and commercial operations for an undisclosed amount. To meet U.S. DOT foreign ownership rules, “XOJET’s regulated air carrier will continue to be independently operated in a joint venture under U.S. control and leadership,” it said. XOJET will continue to operate under its own name.

Vista Global Holding has now announced the purchase of XOJET, the largest on-demand charter brand in North America. The timing couldn’t be better, as both VistaJet and XOJET have seen double-digit growth in the first half of the year, with VistaJet touting a 32-percent increase of participants in its membership program and XOJET reporting a 12 percent increase in total revenue.
